Upon completion of her law degree Michelle continued to live and work in the Triangle and in 2007 she established a small law firm in Downtown Raleigh. From Australia to Raleigh to New York, one thing has remained the same-Sona’s love for being active. At 18, Sona went to explore the streets of NYC as a student at New York University. During this time, Sona was a choreographer and dancer with two companies whose manifesto was ‘creating movement to inspire movement’-using performance art to advance charitable causes and social awareness. This trend continued in Sona as she returned to NC. In her heart, she always knew that her growth depended on whether she could lift and elevate others in the world. To do so required letting go of her greatest fear – becoming a teacher! Now having completed over 400 hours of professional training, Sona is a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor RYT-200, a Certified Yoga Warriors Instructor, and NiaT Technique Instructor, teaching weekly classes and private clients.
Sona is also an educator for lululemon athletica. In this role, she is manifesting her vision of having a wellness hub for athletes, yogis and guests to come together to share in community events, fundraisers, and fun! Sona too works as a design/marketing associate for Scientific Properties, and as a freelance designer. She also serves on the steering committee of the new Contemporary Art Museum’s CAM/now.
Currently, Sona calls downtown Raleigh home. She enjoys nature, travel, sports, animals, and eating local. Striving to lead with open arms and an open heart in the community, Sona is extremely proud to be modeling for charity and reinvesting in her hometown.
